January 2021

2020 was the year of everything and nothing happening. This year, I am determined to regain that momentum and build upon it. People incessantly tell me to “slow my roll” and to take a break, but what is life sitting idle? I have never been one to relax; I have too much to do and see.

My grandparents often remind to me how quickly time and life pass us by. As a teenager, time was hard to grasp. As a 25-year-old, time is still hard to grasp, but I’m beginning to recognize the realities of our mortality. Ten years ago, I was a junior in high school applying to colleges to pursue my passion for photojournalism. Since then, I have lived a lifetime. I have experienced, visited, seen and felt things the average person takes decades to encounter. And it all seems to have happened in the blink of an eye. How might the following decades compare?
