September 2018

Football.

Not much else comes to mind when I think of September. Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday Vol football, it seems like it never ends.

I used to not enjoy shooting the sport very much, but since college I’ve come to like it. At the same time, however, all football photos look the same to me. Just ask any of my coworkers and they will tell you how much I complain about that. Action photos are a dime a dozen (more like penny a dozen). Each time I hit the gridiron I try to make the game more visual, complex and appealing. Color, silhouettes, features, behind-the-scenes; make it something different.

I’ve also been working on a video series called The Vol Boys with my co-worker Ryan where we play pranks on Tennessee Vol fans, visit the tailgates and party with the frat boys. Below is the most recent one from the Tennessee-Florida rivalry game.

At the end are some photos I shot on film with my Nikon F4 and Nikonos IV on Fujifilm.
