April 2018

April 2018

The photo staff stayed busy this month. Actually, really busy.

Ask anybody working in a Gannett newsroom and they will tell you all day about monthly page view goals, video goals, daily clicks etc. For whatever reason, our April traffic was very low, and to make up for lost page views we began photographing proms – lots of proms. We’re talking 4-6 per weekend. At first it sounded pretty daunting and lame, but it can also be pretty fun. I even set up a photo booth to do some high-end fashion looking portraits.

This month I also did a video of a Dragon Lights Festival that came to town and some other fun little stories. Here are my favorites from the month.
