The Big One

The Big One

Throughout the winter season, Athens experiences several small, brief snow showers which usually melt away within a few days. At some point one big snowstorm will always hit causing the entire city to shut down, cancel the school and close the roads. Thanks to Winter Storm Jonas Athens got its annual big storm and accumulated around eight inches of snow in the course of 12 hours. I headed out like I do every year to photograph the billowing wind, the cold pedestrians and the aftermath around campus and uptown Athens. Enjoy!
