College Sports Photographer of the Year and Hunting

College Sports Photographer of the Year and Hunting

Busy busy busy! Photography is always keeping me busy! Ohio Athletics has me shooting sports while my multimedia class has me shooting video and photos for my final video project. I am focusing on hunting in rural Glouster, Ohio, where I am following the Glouster Coon Hunters. The last basketball game I shot freelanced for the newspaper I interned for this summer, The Naples Daily News. Florida Gulf Coast University is a 15 minute drive from Naples and they were playing OU on Saturday. I asked my editor in Naples if he would be interested in having photos from the game and he said he would. It was fun to see some familiar faces after shooting a few assignments at FGCU during my time in Naples.

I’ve also been awarded College Photographer of the Year First Place in Sports Portfolio and Second Place in Sports Action.

I am very honored to receive these awards. I work hard to produce the best images I can every time I shoot sports. I always ask myself “How can I do this differently/better?” I am never satisfied with what I have; there is ALWAYS room for improvement. I feel very privileged to have been recognized for my efforts, it means a great deal to me. Sports photography is my dream job and winning this competition has been a big encouragement.
