Best Work of August 2015

Best Work of August 2015

Here is my final blog post from my summer internship with The Naples Daily News in Naples, Florida. While June and July kept me busy with many assignments, August offered a lot of visual assignments. I am very proud of the work I produced in August. I had an incredible time in Naples and learned a lot from my editor Harry Walker and the talented photo staff. They were all very helpful and never hesitated to give me feedback or critique. They helped me find a new way of looking at assignments and finding new moments I would otherwise have missed.

I also had the opportunity to photograph a Professional Bull Riding competition. I set up a remote camera in the catwalk of the arena and walked away with a couple solid frames, my favorite seen below. My editor was also able to work in a high school football game the night before my last work day! Sports is one of my favorite things to photograph and I appreciate my editor in scheduling a game in for me.

Here is a collection of my favorite images of August. I am currently back in Athens, Ohio, starting my junior year at Ohio University studying photojournalism. Stay tuned for new blog updates!
